The final concert in this season’s Musical Moments recital series at the Geneva Public Library will take place on Friday, May 12, starting at 7:30 pm in the library’s Reading Room. It will feature Finger Lakes Camerata, a Chamber Choral Ensemble in association with Finger Lakes Community College. The concert is free and open to the public.
The program is titled “Peace Like a River” – A Choral Scope of all music dedicated to water throughout the 17th century to now. It will feature musical favorites such as “Down By the River to Pray”, “Shall We Gather at the River”, and “Africa” to name a few. It will also feature Argentinian composer Santiago Veros with his Virtual Choral International Festival Commission “La Magia del Rio”. This piece was written in conjunction with the International Choral Festival that featured the largest known Choir ever created.
Finger Lakes Camerata performs music throughout the centuries in order to create a color spectrum through their choral performances. It is composed of community members from Wayne, Ontario, & Monroe Counties joining together for one goal: to spread the joy of singing with their audiences. Established in 2002, Finger Lakes Camerata has presented major choral works which include: Mendessohn’s Elijah,
Vivaldi’s Gloria, Brahm’s Ein Deutches Requiem, and Faure’s Requiem.
FLCC encourages interested singers who would like to join the Camerata, to please consult the director, Anthony D’Agostino at email@example.com.
