April 6 @ 9:00 pm - April 7 @ 12:00 am

Hot Dogs & Gin Bio

Hot Dogs & Gin is an eclectic classic rock & blues cover band that has been rockinā€™ the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier regions of NY since 2016. Comprised of high school Science teacher Doug Hubert on vocals and rhythm guitar, long time local radio personality and station manager Stephen Shimer on drums, veteran bassist Dave Jenkins, and 15-year-old award winning lead guitarist and Broadway tour alum Eamonn Hubert, the band has developed a loyal following of dedicated fans over the years and performed at the New York State Blues Festival in 2021 with Eamonn also performing there in 2022 with Clarence Spady Band.
Eamonn has been performing live since age 6. He first picked up a guitar as a toddler and by age 7 was also playing ukulele and mandolin. He began violin at school in 4th grade, alto sax in 5th grade, and transitioned to tenor sax and cello not long after, as well as adding piano. Shortly before his 8th birthday, he was awarded 2nd place in the NYS Blues Festivalā€™s KJ James Memorial Scholarship competition and became the youngest performer to take the stage there, sitting in with local band Funky Blu Roots. Around that same time, a casting associate for ā€œSchool of Rock the Musicalā€ saw a video of Eamonn performing on YouTube and invited him to audition in NYC. He auditioned three times and was finally cast as a swing and understudy for the 1st National Broadway Tour at age 10. The band took a hiatus, and Eamonn joined the tour for its final 20 weeks, covering two lead and four ensemble tracks. He took the stage many times in 13 states before thousands of screaming theater goers. The band reconvened in June 2020, and Eamonn began tackling piano and drums.
Eamonn has participated in local theater and music productions at the Endicott Performing Arts Center and has been cast in lead and supportive roles in several school musicals as well. He has also been active in his high school orchestra, wind ensemble, jazz band, and marching band. He has earned outstanding ratings on cello at NYSSMA three years in a row, has participated in All County band and orchestra, and was selected for Area All State Orchestra last year. He was recently awarded the KJ James Memorial Scholarship at the New York State Blues Festival for a second time. Eamonn is also a high honors student and a proud member of the autism and stuttering communities. We have witnessed firsthand the incredible restorative power of music and are avid supporters of music and arts in schools.
