Native to Ithaca, NY, Max Childs is a songwriter who blends sounds from pop, rock and soul music. Since forming his band in 2015, Childs has performed across New York state headlining and supporting artists such as Danielle Ponder, Juice, West End Blend, Bella’s Bartok, and The Comb Down.
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, Childs spent a lot of his time writing and recording a “vault” of new music. He recently put out a single, “Easy”, which can be listened to on nearly all streaming platforms. Working towards a full-length album, you can expect more single releases from him in the near future.
In addition to his own music, Max performed regularly with The Crucials and has been seen locally and nationally with Uma Galera, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Domino Saints, Kevin Kinsella and more.
Childs also performed with Doe Paoro, a Los Angeles-based songwriter. As her keyboardist, the two toured together supporting Son Little in 2017 and The Gypsy Kings in 2018.
In 2022 Max Childs won the “Band Contest” at the 30th Annual Fingerlakes Grassroots Festival and will be performing two sets at their 2023 festival.
