Enfield Spring Rhubarb Festival

Celebrate spring and everything rhubarb at the 2nd Annual Enfield Spring Rhubarb Festival on Saturday, May 20th at the Enfield Community Center, 162 Enfield Main Road in Ithaca, NY.

This family-friendly event opens at 9:00am with a breakfast of pancakes served with rhubarb sauce or pancake syrup. From 11:00am to 3:00pm, Festival activities will include a rhubarb tasting tent with treats from local bakers such as rhubarb cake, crisp and fool; samples of rhubarb and other fruit wines, and sales of rhubarb pies, fresh rhubarb, rhubarb crowns and other plants.
The Festival also will include a Craft Show with local vendors, raffle baskets, and ticket sales for this year’s beautiful Enfield Quilt which will be on display. Children can enjoy face painting, outdoor family games and activities, and story time coordinated by the Enfield Community Library. Community groups will be present with information and displays about their programs.
From 11:30am ‘til gone, roast pork dinners or sandwiches with a side of tangy/sweet rhubarb BBQ sauce will be sold; sandwiches come with one side, dinners include coleslaw, cornbread and dessert. A concession stand will be open throughout the day, selling drinks and ala carte foods including couscous salad, mac and cheese, squash soup, hot dogs and faux dogs, and nachos. Clean restrooms are available in the Community Center.
Community members and local organizations are invited take part in the Enfield Spring Rhubarb Festival by preparing a rhubarb treat for the tasting event. There is no fee to participate, and the Enfield Community Council (ECC) will provide the tent, tables, chairs and sampling cups, and will sell the tasting tickets; proceeds will be split with tasting presenters. This a great opportunity to raise awareness about who you are and what you do, make some money, and have some fun!
