Dingonek Street Band returns to Ithaca on the Saturday before Mardi Gras to celebrate the release of their new album, Arwe. Good times are guaranteed to be had by all!

Inspired by the unbridled spontaneity and celebratory energy of the New Orleans brass band tradition, Brooklyn-based brass fusion quintet Dingonek combines hard bop horn writing with traditional Ethiopian tonalities and dance rhythms rooted in funk, reggae, Second-Line, and Afrobeat.
Arwe is the band’s second full length album scheduled for release in February 2024. The album pays special tribute to the music of Ethiopia, especially the Ethio-jazz innovations of the 1970’s, and it features eight original tracks blending post-bop and Ethio-jazz with dance rhythms from around the world.
But for serious, it’s gonna be a wild party and you should be there.
