Mid-Afternoon Irish Tea Featuring An Afternoon of Harp Music with Lisa Fenwick

A variety pastries, teas, and coffees will be served as Lisa Fenwick presents a program on both Celtic lever harp and pedal harp. The concert will include a variety of music styles with a strong emphasis on Celtic music in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day week. Lisa will engage with the audience and share her love for the instrument by sharing a bit about how the instrument works and a bit of information about how the harp has evolved over time.

Lisa Fenwick is an active harp performer throughout the region. When not playing harp, Lisa teaches harp, flute, and piano to all ages. Originally trained as a flutist, Lisa has served as an adjunct professor of music at SUNY Cortland and was on the faculty of the Community School of Music and Arts in Ithaca for over 20 years. She has maintained her own teaching studio since college as well as running and teaching Kindermusik of Ithaca for 14 years.

Lisa was originally drawn to the harp when playing in a flute and harp duo in college and she began to study harp right around this time. Lisa has played with the harp ensemble Harps on the Susquehanna and in the harp duo Enchantment as well as with other local performing groups but now most often performs throughout the region as a solo harpist. She has played numerous solo recitals throughout the area and often plays for weddings and other special events. She teaches harp both online and in her Ithaca studio.
