GREAT Service! GREAT Food! GREAT Atmosphere! High Price...started with bread which some was to hard. The steak was cooked to perfection, juiciest and full of flavor. The Lobster tail was perfect. The potatoes were lacking for taste. Very bland.
Great atmosphere. This was my second visit to the restaurant. I had dinner at 5:30 and my steak was not good. There was no seasoning, I didn’t even taste the salt- if there was any. The lobster tail was good. I really expected a $60 steak to be tender and tasty. Really disappointed.
The atmosphere is nice. I got the prime strip. like many other reviews, I can't understand why it was so tough. I ordered it with garlic butter as others had warmed of poor seasoning . The wait staff seemed poorly trained. they are just not up to the caliber of what the restaurant is trying to be. I would give the place 3.5. mainly because everything was not up to the price they charged. Had it been 25 % cheaper...then the place is a little over 4 stars. Don't be afraid to eat here...but keep expectations on the ground. still had a lot of fun...the drinks are solid.
We had a phenomenal meal at Portico. The salad with creamy balsamic, the scallops were cooked to perfection and the tomato olive sauce with the bread…so tasty. The server was attentive and we had the best service. When we asked the server to thank the chef for a great meal, the chef came to the table so we were able to thank him in person. Executive Chef Gregg, thank you for an incredible meal and experience.
I waited a full hour between my appetizer and dinner. The staff were rude and simply blamed this on large parties that were present. Steaks are USDA Choice and 10oz of Choice filet is not worth over 60$. Compare to the other high end steakhouses in Rochester for example to see what a benchmark is. I would certainly look somewhere else, and a place that can handle the number of patrons they seat.
