Decent Chinese-American food. Good portion sizes, but flavor a little too subtle. I’m sure this is because of their need to cater to a diverse range of tourists, but I like more flavor. Comfy restaurant with really friendly staff. Decent location but parking can be hard if it’s busy.
Service was fast, food was good larger than expected portions. We would be back!
I used to love this place. But haven't had food from here in a few years. It is not what it used to be. The service was terrible. They tried charging for items that were not received. They never came back to see if we had everything we needed or not. When they put the check on the table, they never came back for it. And there was only us and 1 other couple in the restaurant. Most of the time, the waiter could be seen on the other end of the restaurant sitting playing on his phone. Not a good way to keep customers. I don't live around here anymore but this used to be my favorite place to eat. Makes me sad.
We came for sushi and we’re informed that they did not have ANY sushi after we already had been given 2 lemonades. We took maybe 2 sips out of each beforehand and informed the waitress that we no longer wanted to dine due to them having no sushi. They said ok and we left. We walked half way down the street until they came running at us because they wanted us to pay $6 for 2 drinks that we didn’t even finish nor start to drink. We paid the ridiculous $6 for drinks we didn’t even consume and decided we will never go back to this place again. The customer service was horrible and they made us feel uncomfortable. They couldn’t understand anything we said and we were always having to repeat what we said. Horrible place, it is going downhill and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is coming to Watkins Glen to have a nice visit. We ended up going to Lucky Star instead and they always have great food.
House of Hong was okay! They have vegan options and the food tastes good. It is a family run business and they take good care of you. Dining in was a little strange. The space is older and the kids there were playing video games near the dining room.
