Since our founding in 1979, Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard has been a pioneer of viticulture and winemaking in the Finger Lakes. Hermann came to the region determined to produce fine wines that would garner national attention. Today, our estate spans 80-acres of prime vineyard sites on the western slopes of Seneca Lake and our wines are among the most acclaimed in the region.
Wonderful vineyard with a lot of history behind it. Our server was extremely knowledgeable in all the wines and she went above and beyond to provide excellent service and education for us on the history of the vineyard. We're definitely bringing home their signature Riesling!
What started as a fun wine tour with a friend ended up being a beautiful learning experience with Heather. Heather is incredibly open to all kinds of discussion about wine and is truly very knowledgeable about the winery and wine itself. She is incredibly passionate about the history, present, and future of all things Herman J Wiemer. Through our tasting experience, I feel connected to Wiemer vineyards and more confident in my palette. As students, my friend and I are incredibly thankful for the wine tasting experience we had today with Heather being our guide through it all. I would like to extend a big thank you to the entire team at Wiemer and highly recommend that anyone and everyone visit the winery!
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Wiemer Vineyard. We definitely recommend making reservations, as we likely wouldn't have been able to enjoy a tasting without one! Loved the a la carte pricing so we could try exactly as many as we wanted. The popcorn and nuts were also a lovely touch. Our host was wonderful and checked on us exactly enough so that we could ask questions, but still have an intimate experience. Highly recommend!
Exallant wine and service ! Second time this year !! Loved it !!
We tried to visit on Saturday and were disappointed to find tastings were by reservation only. We were encouraged to make a reservation for the next day and are we glad we did. We spent a couple of days tasting Rieslings on the Keuka and Seneca wine trails. Although all were very good HJW was a step ahead. Heather was an excellent host BTW. Very patient with our questions.
