Stopped because of the name and how intriguing it was, can only stop at so many locations on the wine trail ya know! Location was gorgeous! We were there just before closing but the staff was accommodating. I even bought a shirt it was so nice. Bought some of my favorite wine, Gewürztraminer. Delectable white. Go there buy some now!
We liked the wine and the food was good but be warned, they are VERY sensitive about people sitting at their picnic tables! After doing a wine tasting,, we sat down with some breakfast muffins that my kids surprised us with. Immediately we were told that you can't sit at the picnic tables with outside food! We explained that we planned to order food too and they backed off. While we were waiting for the waitress to return with menus, we were approached by another employee and told that we can't sit at the picnic tables with outside food! Once again, they backed off when we explained the situation. We ordered food and tried to order a couple bottles of wine but the waitress said that she couldn't use our wine tasting discount coupons. So as we were waiting for our food, my adult son went into the store and bought a couple bottles of wine. When he asked them to uncork the bottles, he was told that you can't take the wine bottles out to the picnic tables! A manager type person stepped in and told the employee to let it go. I understand that they cafe and wine store are probably separate businesses but half the picnic tables were empty, we spent a lot of money in both the cafe and wine store and those businesses benefit each other. The 3 picnic table incidences left a bad taste in our mouths. Very disappointed.
The views of Cayuga Lake are a major selling point. Great location. The food at the bistro was tasty, we had a light fare with the quiche and some fries. The wine here is great. They have an awesome selection of dry and sweet, red or white... Even have a cider, a port and winter wine.
First let me say we have been there several times all enjoyable ! But this weekends visit may be our last ! We went in and walked up to the tasting bar and a young woman walked over and slide the paper menu across to us No smile No greeting. We ordered a glass of our favorite wine and she said the tables outside and the deck are for restaurants and tasting patrons so I said we'll just stay in here its nicer anyway to which she replied we would rather you didn't what if wine is spilled do you want to buy 20 sweatshirts ? Not sure what to say to that!!! I said where can we stand ? Her reply out front on the grass!!! Needless to say We left without buying the wine we were going to buy
A very pretty winery on Cayuga lake. The wine tasting was well done by a young lady Hunter. She knows her wines! I was ready to give 5 stars but when we sat down for something to eat things went south. We waited about 45 min for our meal. When I asked the waitress why the long wait she said well some dishes take longer to prepare. I guess I wasn't aware that Chicken Parm and Chicken Rigatoni were so complicated. The table next to us sat after us but was served a good 20 minutes earlier. I guess their hot dishes were easier recipes. I was told twice the order was coming out but it never materialized. Our waitress was no where to be seen so I asked someone else what the hold up was. I was told it is coming right out. That took another 15 minutes. I then spoke with the owner who told me that serving time is less than 23 minutes. Do you time stamp your orders? If that's the case our order was not put in in a timely basis. The owner said nothing further. So the moral of the story is go for the wine tasting but forget the food! Mr Owner you lost about $100 in wine purchases that we had planned to do but I guess that didn't matter to you.
