Spring Waterfalls Workshop: Ithaca, New York
May 9 @ 3:00 pm - May 11 @ 12:00 pm
We will select from some of the best shooting locations in the area such as: Taughannock State Park | Sweedler Nature Preserve | Buttermilk Falls State Park | Cornell Natural Area | Six Mile Creek | Robert Treman State Park
The BEST waterfalls, all within 10 square miles!
The Ithaca area is the perfect Finger Lakes destination for waterfall photography. As the saying goes, “Ithaca is GORGES!” It’s because of the 150 waterfalls that flow across the town, funneling water through gorges carved out thousands of years ago by glaciers. Ithaca is one of the best spots in New York State for those that love to visit, explore and photograph waterfalls. We’ll visit Ithaca and Tompkins County to discover hidden gems. This 2-DAY guided tour, with in-field workshops, will emerge you in a photographer’s paradise. You’ll be surrounded by the beauty of the area and of course, gorgeous waterfalls.
This tour will be lead by Joanne Henig, art photographer and educator, and professional nature photographer, Tony Graziano. Joanne and Tony look forward to exploring this exciting adventure with you.
In-field photography sessions with time devoted to discussion and instruction regarding lighting, composition, long exposure, and nature photography techniques as well as evaluation and recommendations for improvement. We scout our locations each year prior to every workshop to ensure our photo locations are successful, without unexpected closures, debris, etc. We have experience photographing in this location, and we pride ourselves on getting you to the right spot at the right time.
