A Finger Lakes Winter – Group Exhibition
December 26, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
As the land around us is slowly blanketed in white, and the waterfalls begin to freeze, we can find ourselves yearning for warmer days in the steamy summer sun. With hours spent on the lakes, in a creek or on a mountain, summertime in the Finger Lakes is like no other. Our exhibiting artists at Franklin Street Gallery seek to illustrate the raw beauty of the region even as the days grow shorter and colder. We present to you the group exhibit, “A Finger Lakes Winter.”
This year has been filled with anxiety, stress and unexpected hardships that has forced us now more than ever to appreciate what we have and where we are. The group exhibit “A Finger Lakes Winter” invites us to find the beauty in our unique surroundings even in the dead of winter. Franklin Street Gallery is lucky to have exhibiting artists who not only produce stunning pieces highlighting the summer months in the Finger lakes, but who have also found new and beautiful ways to showcase the winter landscape as well. We have curated an exceptional group of pieces that highlight the mystical beauty of a Finger Lakes winter. From a photograph taken behind a sheet of ice, to an oil painting of a dilapidated barn covered in snow, “A Finger Lakes Winter” is a diverse tableau meant to encourage exploration and appreciation of the region in winter.
