Perks of the Parks

Visit any of our 13 park located within the Town and City of Canandaigua on June 4th and you will be able to interact with a number of the different recreation organizations that our community has to offer! Each location you visit increases your chances to win a number of different raffle prizes.
Take a photo during the event and add the hastag #PerksoftheParks and get an ADDITIONAL RAFFLE ENTRY!

Blue Heron Park – Fire Hall Road
10am-1pm: Disc Golf demonstrations with Bill & Pat Mehls
Did you know that there is a disc golf course right in the Town of Canandaigua?! Have you even heard of disc golf? Come throw a frisbee and see if this hobby is right for you!
Outhouse Park – 2550 Outhouse Road
11am-2pm: FOOD TRUCK RODEO! Twisters, A’s Diner, 546 Chicken & Waffles
10am-2pm: Carnival Games with Kiwanis Club
10am-2pm: Scavenger Hunt with Rotary Club
Baker Park – 185 Buffalo Street
10am-4pm: Reading Trail and paired activity with Wood Library
Visit with your local librarians and see what their summer schedule has to offer! Walk the reading trail to see June’s new book on display and make a craft that goes along with it!
Sonnenberg Park – 158 Howell Street
10am-2pm: Pickleball demonstrations with George Fairfax & friends
This is your chance to see what this new craze is all about! Borrow one of our paddles and find out how to get involved in the fastest growing sport in our area!
Canine Campus – 97 Buffalo Street
12-2pm: Try for free with your valid dog license and rabies vaccination record
And while you are there, stop by the Pet Photo Booth!
Jefferson Park – 329 Jefferson Ave
10am-4pm: Obstacle course with Army recruiting station

Waiver needed before participation allowed *Appropriate footwear recommended!
Commons Park – 152 S. Main Street
8am: Opening day of the Farmers Market
10am-4pm: Family entertainment and games with the BID
Music, corn hole, plen air demonstrations, and more!
Lagoon Park – Lakeshore Drive
10am-2pm: Trail Walk with Ontario County Pathways
Get a closer look at the beaver dams, identify local species, and learn why some trees are being removed from this forever wild park.
Kershaw Park – Small Craft Launch
10am-4pm: SUP Boarding & Kayak demonstrations with Canandaigua Sailboarding
Try out the standup paddle boards and kayaks at the small craft launch (near Twisted Rail).
City Pier – Lakeshore Drive
10am-4pm: Lure decorating and Fishing with Canandaigua Sailboard @ Sutter’s
Meet at the Sutter’s parking lot to sign up for fishing on the pier with our friends from Canandaigua Sailboard! You can also decorate your own personal fishing lure!
Miller Park – 3240 Route 21 South
12-3pm: DIY Bird feeders & Nature Trail Craft with Cub Scouts & Girl Scouts
Miller Park has a rich variety of bird populations! Take some time to view the beautiful park and walking trails, and make your own bird feeder and nature art with Scouts!
Pierce Park – 5655 Goodale Road
11am-12:30pm: Fire Truck Tours with Cheshire Fire Department
1pm-4pm: Scavenger Hunt with Cheshire Community Action Team
See if you can solve all the clues!
4-6pm: Music from “The Irish Lassies” followed by Open Mic with CCAT

11am, 1pm & 3pm: Salamander seminar with John Bateman from FLCC
Hike through the stream with John and learn about the life that lives there!
Critter catching in the stream with CLWA
“Catch” insect larva & other tiny creatures dancing in the streams! Then you will have the opportunity to become one of the critters in an epic game of tag!
