Dined here last week while visiting the Watkins Glen area. We are repeat customers as we had such a wonderful dinner there last year. Try the chardonnay...OMG...smooth, crisp, delicious. We started with the lobster grilled cheese served over a tomato bisque. Different and delicious. The crab cake and seabass dinner was everything we hoped for. Service was spot-on as well. I wish I could remember the name of our server... Highly recommend and if in this area again would definitely return!
We were so looking forward to the Easter buffet-1st visit here; saw the menu online-looked great-very disappointed especially for $42.95/person. The vegetables very very undercooked-extremely crunchy, the three potato hash was tasteless (not enough seasoning), the honey nut carrots were just “okay,” the vegetable stuffed sole was the biggest disappointment: a tiny piece of sole wrapped around the same uncooked vegetables that were also served as a side dish. I thought a “stuffed sole” would be stuffed with a breadcrumb-like filling like any stuffed seafood-lobster tails, crab cakes, etc., but these were just wrapped around those crunchy vegetables, and to top it all off, they were lukewarm. We left it on our plates. The ham was good, but the carver offered me pineapple sauce, which I informed her I was allergic to (.told the hostess that when I made reservations). The dessert was also a disappointment. The banana pudding/custard tasted artificial like it came out of a jello mix, and the carrot cake truffles were raw-like eating raw cake dough. The only thing we enjoyed (besides the view) was the broccoli Mac and cheese, but for $42.95 a person, that is an expensive Mac and cheese! Seemed like it was done by a poor catering company or maybe they just need a new chef. Also-a lot of the time, the employees (mainly the girls), we’re just standing around gossiping, just staring at everyone, laughing. Never again.
Absolutely stellar dinner experience! Upon arriving, my family was seated swiftly and within moments had drinks and appetizers on the table. Everything was prepared expediently and presented in a visually appealing manner. All of the staff were friendly, and the restaurant has both a beautiful view and an extensive wine selection. Dinner itself was fantastic, the French dip in particular was a favorite. We will most definitely be returning soon!
If you are looking for a good place to eat with excellent service, good food, and a great view of Seneca Lake, this is well worth a stop. I'm not usually one to get dessert, but they have amazing desserts. I opted for the cheese cake. Love the view of the lake. I plan to go back.
Excellent food, stellar service, and every wine and cider the winery has on tap! Shortly after arriving, we were seated and within moments had appetizers on the table. All of our food was prepared expediently and cooked perfectly. The staff were all friendly, and the restaurant has both a beautiful view and a wonderful atmosphere. Our dinner itself was fantastic, the tiramisu was amazing. Will most definitely be returning in the future!
